Land Acknowledgment
The University of West Georgia is on the traditional land of the Muscogee (Creek) people and is located on the former site of the Bonner Plantation where enslaved people of African descent lived and worked. Special Collections holds various primary source materials documenting the history and experiences of peoples indigenous and enslaved in the West Georgia region.
