Britney Harris

Hello! My name is Britney Harris, and I’m a Limited Term Instructor in the First-Year Writing Program at the University of West Georgia.

I earned both my B.A. and M.A. in English from UWG, where I studied American and women’s literature, as well as how books, film, and media can represent underrepresented communities and amplify marginalized voices. I bring this perspective into the classroom to help students think critically about the stories they read, watch, and encounter in everyday life.

I have taught English in a variety of settings, from middle and high school classrooms to the college writing center, and I’m passionate about helping students discover their own voices as writers and critical thinkers. In my classes, I strive to create inclusive, student-centered learning environments where everyone feels welcome to explore ideas, ask questions, and grow.

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy presenting at conferences, mentoring students, and continuing my research on literature and media. Above all, I’m committed to supporting my students as they develop skills that will serve them well beyond the university classroom.
