Adam Wolecki, Ph.D., is originally from Eastbourne in England and is currently an Assistant Professor of Physical Education at the University of West Georgia. He earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Pedagogy from The University of Alabama, where his research explored occupational socialization, values-based coaching, and student-centered models such as Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU). He also holds an MRes in Sport & International Development and a BSc (Hons) in Sport Coaching, both from the University of Brighton in England.
Dr. Wolecki has extensive experience teaching and developing curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. His teaching emphasizes tactical games approaches, hybrid models of sport education, and constraints-based pedagogy that enhance student engagement and autonomy. He has presented his work nationally and internationally, with contributions to SHAPE America and ASAHPERD, and his research has appeared in the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education.
Before entering academia, Dr. Wolecki served in leadership and coaching roles within professional and community sport organizations in England, including as Assistant Manager for Lewes Football Club Women in the women's Championship. He has worked as a volunteer for the charity Football 4 Peace, delivering projects in England, Northern Ireland, The Gambia and Israel to help promote coexistence in divided societies, often in areas of conflict, through a Plus Sport model.
At the University of West Georgia, Dr. Wolecki continues to integrate his research, teaching, and applied coaching experience to prepare future educators and coaches to create inclusive, meaningful, and holistic learning environments.
