Basic Needs Center

Located in the Health Services Building, the Basic Needs Center (BNC) at the University of West Georgia provides short-term support for students experiencing temporary challenges in accessing essential resources. The BNC offers food, hygiene and toiletry products, academic supplies, bathroom and residence hall essentials, cleaning supplies, and basic first aid items to help meet immediate needs.

Operated by the Center for Integrative Wellness, the Basic Needs Center is designed to bridge short-term gaps—typically three to four days—and is not intended to serve as a primary or ongoing source of provisions throughout the semester. Students are permitted up to three visits per semester to ensure equitable access to resources for all who may need assistance.

The BNC operates through generous donations from the campus community and local partners, as well as grant funding when available. As a result, the availability of supplies may vary based on donation frequency and inventory levels.

Appointments to access the Basic Needs Center can be made by contacting the Center for Integrative Wellness at wolfwellness@westga.edu. Appointments are available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on staff availability.

Donations

The Center for Integrative Wellness is able to operate the Basic Needs Center through generous support from UWG employees, local businesses and organizations, and community partners. If you are interested in supporting or donating to the Basic Needs Center, you can do so in a few ways. 

• Individuals may purchase items from the Center for Integrative Wellness Amazon Wish List.  Items will be  shipped directly to campus.
• All monetary donations can be made to the Center for Integrative Wellness Foundation account.

Donation Drop-off

• On-site donations can be made directly to the Center for Integrative Wellness. To schedule a drop-off appointment, email us at wolfwellness@westga.edu or call 678-839-6194. We will gladly meet you at Health Services to receive your donation. Donations are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.
